Every course is built from blocks. Each block has an icon that tells you what kind it is, and a progress bar showing how complete it is.

• Module (folder icon) – a container that groups other blocks, for example Pre req, E-learning or Sim. Tap it to see the blocks inside. Its progress bar reflects everything within it.
• Record block (medal icon) – linked to a specific record, such as an OPC or CAT II. If the block has a form attached, tapping it opens the form and submitting it updates the record. If there's no form, the block shows which record it's waiting for and completes on its own once that record is fulfilled elsewhere. See Completing a record block.
• Form block (document icon) – opens a form when tapped. Submitting the form completes the block. Unlike a record block, it does not update any records — it's just part of the course. See Completing a form block.
• On-the-job training block (briefcase icon) – used for training that accumulates over time, such as LIFUS. It shows how many sectors, hours and training elements are required and how many have been completed so far, for example 0 of 20 Sectors, 0 of 10 Hours, 0 of 17 Training elements.
• Work session / Sector (paper plane icon) – always sits inside an on-the-job training block. Each one records a single session or sector and counts towards the block's sector and hour requirements. A block can have more than one type of work session, each with its own fields and requirements — for example Sector and Flight. See Recording a work session.
  
  

Fixed and dynamic blocks

Some blocks are fixed — they're part of the course from the start. Others are dynamic, meaning they're added as training happens. The most common example is work sessions: a new sector is added for each line training flight.

Status colours

The bar on the left of each block shows its status: grey for not started, orange for in progress and green for completed.

Blocked

Some blocks depend on others being completed first. A block showing a red Blocked label can't be opened yet because one or more earlier blocks haven't been completed. Complete the required blocks and the label disappears. Which blocks depend on which is set by your organisation in the course design.
