Course manager

Intro

The Course Manager is the tool where courses for individual trainees are initiated, monitored, and modified by an administrator.

Start a Course

  1. In the Course Manager, begin a new course by clicking on "START NEW COURSE."
  2. Choose the type of course you wish to initiate.
  3. Select a start date. This date is crucial as it determines which updates are included in the course progress.
  4. Add the student or students to the course.
  5. Trainers can be automatically assigned to a course based on its settings. Alternatively, trainers with specific qualifications can also be manually assigned.

Edit a Course

You have the ability to modify certain elements within an ongoing course.

On-The-Job Training (OJT)

In the Course Manager, an On-The-Job Training (OJT) block, such as for a LIFUS (Line Flying Under Supervision), can be presented and managed. You have the option to edit aspects like the number of hours and sessions in an ongoing LIFUS. When the number of sessions or hours is updated, the course progress for the individual student will be recalculated accordingly.

Cancel a Course in Progress:

To cancel an ongoing course before its completion, follow these steps:
  1. In the Course Manager, click on the three dots located on the course you wish to cancel.
  2. Select "Cancel course."
  3. You will be prompted to provide a reason for canceling the course.
  4. The course report will be available in the Task list after a few minutes, where you can then archive it.
  5. To access the course report at a later time, navigate to 'Crew-Courses' and open the course report from there.

Restart a course

To apply changes made in the course settings to a course that is already in progress, follow these steps:
  1. In the Course Manager, click on the three dots associated with the course you want to update.
  2. Select "Restart as new course."
  3. The course will restart with the new settings for the course and all data that has already been added in the original course, will be transferred to the new course as well.
  4. When a course is restarted, the original course will still be available in the course manager with an "old" label and can be removed manually.

Important: When modifying a course in the course builder with the intention to restart the course with some new settings, it's crucial to perform the changes on the existing course block to ensure that the training data is transferred from the original course to the restarted course. If a new OJT (On The Job Training) block is added in the course builder and the old one is removed, the work sessions that have already been submitted will not transfer to the restarted course. However, if the original OJT block is modified rather than replaced, the already submitted work sessions will be included in the restarted course.
