Event types
To utilize the events module in Crewdox, it's essential to first create an event type. For example, let's consider setting up an event that consists of a single simulator session, during which a form will be used to record the training.
Basic Settings for Creating an Event Type in Crewdox:
- Navigate to Event Types: Go to the settings menu and click on "Event types".
- Create a New Event Type: Select "CREATE NEW".
- Configure the Popup Settings:
- Choose "Standard Event".
- Name the event type.
- If you intend to use student fulfillments, select "YES".
- Set default block settings for groups, typically "ALL".
- Specify the date and time settings for the event.
- Add Trainer and Student Groups:
- Include the trainer groups relevant to the event (e.g., select "Instructor" as the trainer group).
- Add the student groups that will participate.
- Set Visibility Duration:
- Decide how many days before and after the event it should be visible to trainers and instructors. Note that currently, only trainer visibility is implemented in the app, but there are plans to extend visibility to students as well.
- Finalize: Click "Create" to establish the new event type.
This process ensures that the event is tailored to the specific training requirements and roles involved, while also setting the groundwork for future enhancements in terms of app functionality and user experience.
Add content to the event type
Once the basic settings are done and saved, click on the event in the list and click the button "CREATE NEW"
- In the dropdown, select what type of event module this should be. In this example, we will be using an attendance list for in-house
- Give the event block a name. In this example we will only use one block and we give it the name CRM New pilots
- Click CREATE
- Now click on the three dots and select "Edit"
- A sidebar drawer opens where you can select the form() or attendance list(s) we want to use for this event type.
- Event block name - Pre-filled, but can be changed here
- Select a record here if you want to track student fulfillments. This is telling the system what we expect students to perform in this event.
- Add as many forms and/or attendance lists that you would like for the event. (In most cases there will be only one)
- Click SAVE
