Logging Out of the app
When attempting to log out of the app with unsynced, locally saved data still present, the user will encounter a pop-up warning that any locally saved data will be lost if they proceed to log out without first submitting this data. To proceed with the logout despite this, the user must type "Confirm." This action will result in the user being logged out and the loss of any locally saved data.
It's important to note that "confirm" is not case-sensitive, but ensure that there are no spaces following the word "confirm," as this will hinder the logout process.
When the app is updated
Major updates
When a user installs a new version of the app that contains an major update to the app functionality, they are prompted to perform a complete sync to ensure the app is updated with all the latest data. The most straightforward method is to carry out the sync from the dialogue presented to the user. However, if the user opts to do the sync at a later time, they are informed that this will require a complete logout, rather than just a sync.
Minor updates
For updates considered minor, instead of a message prompting a sync, users will receive a notification informing them that the app has been updated. These minor updates do not necessitate an immediate sync or logout, as they typically involve less critical changes.
Synchronising locally saved data
Any data submitted is initially saved locally on the user's iPad and placed in a "Waiting to sync" section, as shown in the accompanying image. Whenever there is data that has been submitted but not yet synchronised with the server, an upward-pointing white arrow will appear in the header. Users can press this arrow to initiate the data submission to the server.
To minimise sync errors, it is advised that users synchronize data when they have a stable internet connection. This recommendation aims to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the data synchronisation process.
Reminders to sync
We are now reminding the user to perform a sync when he or she enters the app and the last sync was more than 24 hours ago.
