Access groups controls what a user in Crewdox can do and for whom. Due to the complexity involved when creating access groups, our support team will create them for you based on your needs. Just reach out to us at
support@crewdox.com and let us know what you need for your users. Due to the complexity and many possible combinations of access read and write rights, we recommend that you create a user that you can test the access on while building your access groups. Below are some common settings that can be useful to know about.
Old Access Rights
Home
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to Home on the web and to My Crewdox on the iPad.
Read (No) - Removes access to Home on the web and to My Crewdox on the iPad.
Edit (Yes) - Not used
Edit (No) - Not used
Inbox view
The inbox view is being phased out completely and should not be used anymore.
Email log
This requires that the user also has access Read Yes for Settings.
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to Email log under Settings.
Read (No) - Removes access to Email log under Settings.
Edit (Yes) - Not used.
Edit (No) - Not used.
Attendance Lists
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to Attendance lists.
Read (No) - Removes access to Attendance lists.
Edit (Yes) - Allows the user to create an Attendance list.
Edit (No) - Removes the possibility to create an Attendance list.
Aircraft
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to Aircraft in the main menu.
Read (No) - Removes access to Aircraft in the main menu.
Edit (Yes) - Allows the user to upload documents for a registration.
Edit (No) - Removes the possibility to upload documents for a registration.
In combination with read access to settings the following applies in addition to the above:
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to Aircraft under settings.
Read (No) - Removes all access to aircraft under settings and in the main navigation.
Edit (Yes) - Allows the user to add and edit Aircraft and registrations.
Edit (No) - Removes access to add and/or edit.
Report Center
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to Reports in the main menu. Available reports are Report Generator and Comments Report.
Read (No) - Removes access to Reports in the main menu.
Edit (Yes) - Not used.
Edit (No) - Not used.
In combination with read access to Records the following applies in addition to the above:
Read (Yes) - In addition to the above reports, Records Report and Crew Record summary is available.
Caution: This provides access to all crew in the roles that are selected for this access group.
In combination with read access to Crew the following applies in addition to the above:
Read (Yes) - In addition to the above reports, Active Users is available.
Caution: This provides access to all crew in the roles that are selected for this access group.
Suppliers
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to Suppliers in the main menu. User can read data.
Read (No) - Removes access to Suppliers in the main menu.
Write (Yes) - Allows the user to edit supplier data.
Write (No) - Removes the possibility to edit supplier data.
Crew
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to Crew in the main menu.
Read (No) - Removes access to Crew in the main menu.
Edit (Yes) - Allows the user to upload files for a crew.
Edit (No) - Removes the possibility to upload files for a crew.
In combination with read access to Records (read) the following applies in addition to the above:
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to view records on a crew.
Edit (Yes) - Allows for editing records on a crew.
In combination with Settings (read) the following applies in addition to the basic Crew settings:
Read (Yes) - Gives the user access to Crew under Settings.
Edit (Yes) - Gives the user access to edit Crew under Settings.
Note: To be able to assign access groups to a user, add the setting "Admin Read & Write" for Access Groups.
Records (in combination with "Records Web View" set to visible
Read (Yes) - Gives the user read access to see records.
Read (No) - Records view will be visible but no data is present.
Edit (Yes) - Allows the user to edit records. Also Read access set to Yes for records is required.
Records (in combination with "Settings" set to Read & Edit "Yes"
If both Read and Edit are set to "Yes" - The user will be able to edit Roles and Records in the settings menu.
Old Courses
The old courses module is not longer supported as it has been replaced with the new course module. Therefore it should always be set to No for both Read and Edit.
Old Events
The old events module is not longer supported as it has been replaced with the new events module. Therefore it should always be set to No for both Read and Edit.

It is possible to limit access to different Crew groups by deselecting the checkbox and selecting which roles a user should have access to
