iPad - Working with forms

Forms

When accessing the Forms page from the menu, you will find three distinct lists available for review and interaction.

In progress

This list displays all forms that are currently being worked on and are saved locally on the user's iPad. A form will appear in this list if the instructor has been working on it but has not yet pressed the 'Submit' button. Instead, the form is saved by clicking on the "back" button while inside the form. This feature allows for ongoing work on forms without final submission, ensuring flexibility in form completion and submission processes.

Forms in progress can be deleted by swiping to the left on the list row and tapping Delete.

Returned from admin

In this list, all forms that has been returned to the user from the Inbox will be found. The admin comment will also be visible on the list as well as inside the form itself.

Waiting to sync

Forms that have been submitted while offline will be showing here and can be synced when the user is online again.

Syncing an offline saved form

If a form is submitted while offline, it will appear in the "WAITING TO SYNC" section. There are two ways to sync these forms with the server:

Sync All: Click the Sync All button in the main navigation menu
Sync Notification Icon: When the app has any unsynced data, it will display an arrow icon in the top right corner to alert the user. For instance, if there is one un-synced sector, this icon will be visible. Tapping on this icon will sync not just the form(s) but also any other data in the app that hasn't been synced yet.

Starting a form

In order to start a new form, press the plus icon in the top right corner

A searchable list will open with all available forms. The user can now select which form to use.

Single vs Dual tab Forms

  1. Single Form: This is utilised when evaluating a single crew member. In such cases, there is only one tab for data entry once the form is opened. It's straightforward and specific to the assessment of one individual.
  2. Dual Tab Forms: These are suitable for grading two crew members simultaneously, eliminating the need to switch between different forms. Dual tabbed forms consist of two pages:
    1. The first page includes all common fields, like the instructor/examiner details, simulator registration, and other shared information.
    2. The second page is dedicated to the individual crew members and their respective gradings.
When a dual tab form is submitted, it is automatically divided into separate forms for each crew member. These individual forms can then be approved or returned by an administrator independently through the inbox.

De-brief

A de-brief tab is available for the instructor, providing a comprehensive overview of the session. This feature is designed to facilitate a thorough and efficient debriefing process, enabling instructors to review key aspects and outcomes of the training session effectively.

Documents inside a form

It is possible to incorporate data on individual gradings, which assists instructors and contributes to maintaining standardized training. Instructors can interact with any grading that includes a link. By tapping on such a grading, a pop-up will open, displaying the relevant content. This feature enhances the grading process by providing additional context and information, ensuring a more informed and consistent evaluation approach.
